Holiday Candlelight First Friday! + Bronx Seaside Trolley

Experience the magic of the mansion at night —by candlelight —fully decorated for the holidays. Each room in the mansion features a Christmas tree inspired by a vintage children’s Christmas storybook. Do a little shopping at the Holiday Shop and enjoy music by the wonderful Metropolitones, a seven-sisters-college alums a cappella group. Light refreshments served. The free Bronx Seaside Trolley makes a continuous loop from Pelham Bay Park #6 subway station to Bartow-Pell to City Island. Registration requested. Cost $10 adults, $7 seniors and children 6–17; members free

Ah, giving thanks is sometimes so much work, for grown-ups and little ones! Fortunately, Wave Hill’s stunning gardens and landscape await the ever-so-grateful visitor the day after Thanksgiving, and the entire weekend. A soothing stroll through the woodlands Sunday morning—winter is a great time to view the many raptors we’ve been seeing recently— and of course a session at the Family Art project, both indoors and out, provide a highly recommended, post-Turkey Day tonic for families.
